Seatac/Seattle to Friday Harbor

Soak in the Seattle and beautiful Washington State scenery on the way to the islands by letting someone else do the driving for you.

The Airporter Shuttle runs cozy coach service from the Sea-Tac Airport and other Seattle and Puget Sound locations to the Friday Harbor ferry terminal six days a week.

Flying to San Juan Island

All routes to Friday Harbor are lovely, but air travel allows you to soak up the island’s beauty in style. It is also the quickest way of getting to the San Juan Islands. Seattle to Friday Harbor is a scenic 30-minute flight, easily accessible from anywhere in Seattle, including Sea-Tac airport.

Coffee in Friday Harbor

What better way to start your day that than strolling around Friday Harbor with a cup of good coffee.

Just a minute's walk from Earthbox will take you to the heart of Friday Harbor, and a variety of coffee shops. For those that need their caffeine fix fast, The Sweet Retreat, epresso stand, is the closest to our motel and offers a full range of coffee, confection and savory treats. For those with children or perhaps just a sweet tooth, don't miss their Mexican hot chocolate.

Arts and Crafts on San Juan Island

One of the many reasons we love San Juan Island is the vibrant arts scene. Not only does Friday Harbor have an array of art galleries to explore, but you can visit other places dedicated to arts and crafts elsewhere on the island.

Family Fun on San Juan Island

On your family's San Juan Island vacation, you'll discover a natural playground to delight the young in years and young at heart. Great Beaches. Kayaking. Whale watching. Fishing. A skate park. Swimming. Cycling. Skimboarding. Exploring on Mopeds and 3-wheeled Scootcoupes. Younger kids? Rent a bicycle built for two or a double kayak.

Casual Dining on San Juan Island

Enjoy breakfast with an ocean view . . . lunch at an outdoor table overlooking the harbor . . . family brunch or dinner al fresco, all an easy walk from Earthbox, your perfect base for a San Juan Island Vacation. Friday Harbor's casual dining choices range from superb sandwiches at the Cannery House, perched on a bluff above the harbor, to home-cooked, heart-healthy fare at the Garden Path, the Backdoor Kitchen, and the Hungry Clam, whose outdoor tables offer great ferry- and people-watching.
