Where to Stay

We here at the Earthbox Inn & Spa offer simple, modern motor-inn style lodging in the heart of Friday Harbor. We are three blocks from the Friday Harbor ferry landing. There are over 40 restaurants, bars and cafes within a three block radius from us. We also have a full service, on-site spa to help soothe those sore muscles or work through that old back injury. Make your Father’s Day reservations here.

Real Good Beer at San Juan Brewing

San Juan Island Brewing Co. offers delicious microbrews and authentic German inspired pub food and pizza for lunch and dinner.  They have big screen TVs  a lovely outdoor patio where four-legged guests are welcome.

Lunch at the Westcott Bay Shellfish Farm

Nestled along pristine Westcott Bay, this working farm grows oysters, mussels, and clams and is a gorgeous spot for lunch. Shuck your own oysters; feast on island-made bread, cheeses, salads, and charcuterie paired with a glass of local wine or beer; or browse the gift shop and take some shellfish back to grill over a bonfire or take home.

Fish & Chips at Haley’s Sport‘s Bar

This fishermen-themed sports bar in the heart of Friday Harbor is the place to watch your favorite sports team and have the best Fish & Chips in town.

Fishing

Book Dad a fishing trip with San Juan Island Fishing Charters to catch salmon or lingcod in the crystal clear waters of the Salish Sea. They’ll provide the gear and know where the best fishing grounds are. Limiting their groups to six people allows plenty of elbow room to fish and take pictures. All experience levels are welcome.

Kayaking

Send Dad off in search for Orcas on a guided sea kayak tour with San Juan Outfitters out of Roche Harbor. All tours are guided by trained naturalists, who delight guests with facts about the history and ecosystem of the Salish Sea, and know where the eagles’ nests and sea lion hangouts are.

Golfing

San Juan Golf & Tennis Club on stunning Griffin Bay with views of Mount Baker is about three miles from the Earthbox Inn & Spa. Treat Dad to a round of Twilight Golf and a drink on the patio of the Greenside Grill.

Distillery Tour

San Juan Island Distillery, also home of Westcott Bay Ciders, offers delightful tastings and fun, educational tours of their cute facilities every Saturday. Their phenomenal spirits are rarely distributed outside of the San Juan Islands and make for a fantastic gift.
