- Indoor Heated Pool
We are the only hotel on San Juan Island with an indoor, heated pool, sauna, hot tub and exercise room. Our pool-house is open year-round and has a lovely patio for sunbathing in the Summer.
- Spa
Our adorable Spa at Earthbox offers massages, body treatment, facials and nail care in a soothing ambience by deeply caring practitioners. Relax after a long day of whale watching and hiking or treat yourself to a couple’s massage on your romantic weekend getaway.
- Concierge Services
We love making people’s days and we do it well. We can book you a whale watch tour, a sea kayak trip or a zip line tour. We can rent you a car or a moped, make restaurant reservations or put a bottle of bubbly in your room upon arrival. Anything else? If it’s possible, consider it done!
- Beach Cruisers
You can check out our fun, colorful beach cruiser bikes for free. We’ll send you to the nearest beach or your favorite restaurant. We do provide helmets, but we don’t provide bike locks. Why? Because you won’t need one. Friday Harbor is that safe.
- Unbeatable Location
The Earthbox is located in the heart of Friday Harbor. You can walk the 4 blocks from the ferry if you left your car on the mainland. Everything you can do in Friday Harbor, you can do from our hotel on foot. Yet our rooms are set back from the road, so as to not disturb you with traffic noise.
- Family Friendly
Kids under 12 stay for free! We’ve got portable mattresses and pack ‘n plays for rent if you need an extra bed and we offer large family rooms, some with full kitchens. San Juan Island is a family vacation paradise and kiddos are welcome everywhere, even in the fanciest restaurants.
- Pet Friendly
Your four-legged kids are welcome here too. We offer pet friendly rooms in almost all room categories and welcome your pup for $25 per pup per night with her own food and water bowl and a treat.
- Great for Groups, Reunions, Retreats
Earthbox has 72 rooms and is one of the larger hotels on the isle. We have a conference room with the latest AV equipment and a commercial kitchen. We host travel groups from all over the world, corporate retreats and (our favorite) family reunions. Contact us with your inquiry.
- Free Parking & WIFI
We don’t believe in nickel and diming our guests. Parking is free, so is our “island wifi”. Please know that island wifi, as well as cell service is not the same as on the mainland. Cell service in Friday Harbor is just fine. Outside of town in can get spotty. Our wifi is a “check your email” wifi, not a “have your nose in your phone all day” wifi. We believe that’s a feature.
- Environmentally Friendly
The environmental impact of the hotel industry is not lost on us. We do our part by recycling, conserving water, using biodegradable laundry detergent, cleaning with E-Cloths, as opposed to harmful chemicals. All of the body care products in our guest rooms come from the local Pelindaba Lavender Farm and are certified organic. Using bulk containers to dispense them cuts down on a lot of waste. We feature two electric car charging stations, cutlery made of corn starch, LED light bulbs, and more. We support environmental organizations with donations and sponsorships every month and we have completely stopped buying plastic straws.
